WARM, WELCOMING, 16TH CENTURY PUB & INN
Nestled in the yale of the River Chelmer, The Flitch of Bacon is a warm, welcoming and relaxing restaurant with rooms housed in a stunning sixteenth-century Grade I listed building.
It is also the only pub or restaurant in the whole world that bears this name, which celebrates an old folk ritual dating back to the 12th Century, from which the prize was a flitch of bacon.
This is celebrated today with our signature dish, “the Flitch of Bacon” a concoction of cauliflower cream, maple glazed bacon and Granny Smith apples.
