The festivities for the 99th Thaxted weekend of dance kick off on the Friday evening with informal dancing at The Star, Thaxted.

On Saturday the dancers tour surrounding villages stopping to dance in several pubs.

The tours will end up back in Thaxted for  the massed procession from both ends of the town then show and massed dancing in the centre. The climax of the evening takes place when the Thaxted Men dance the haunting and sublime Abbots Bromley horn dance.

On Sunday a short procession to church take place followed by more dancing. During the afternoon a relaxing Morris and social dancing event with the public takes place in Margaret street.
