The Saffron Walden Crank Up is a steam and vintage vehicle show that was started in the early 1970s by the late Paul Engelmann at Shire Hill. Since 2015 the event has been run by the East Anglian Traction Engine Society, and our 2023 event will be the second at Carver Barracks, on the former Debden Aerodrome.
Come along and see huge traction engines, and smaller ones too! Vintage vehicles of all sorts, tractors, stationary engines, fairground organs and a host of bygone attractions.
There will be a vintage funfair too, trade and craft stalls, hot and cold refreshments available, as well as a beer tent.Fun for all the family!
