Start & Finish: The Green Man at Lindsell
Begin and end at The Green Man pub, with plenty of outdoor space for dogs to stretch their legs and relax afterwards.
Route Overview: 3–4 miles; 1.5–2 hours

1. Lindsell Village & St Mary the Virgin Church
Walk north into Lindsell village. You’ll pass the medieval St Mary the Virgin Church, whose foundations include Roman brick- evidence of the village’s deep historical roots.
2. Holder’s Green & Sweetings Meadow
Continue towards Holder’s Green, home to Sweetings Meadow, a nature reserve teeming with wildflowers like cowslips and bee orchids during the season. A peaceful spot for your dog to sniff around and for you to enjoy nature.
3. Bustard Green
Carry on through fields and footpaths to Bustard Green, known in spring and summer for its turtle doves and orchids – a serene rural section with gentle country views.
4. Return Countryside Loop
Head back towards The Green Man via hedgerow-lined lanes, offering typical Uttlesford countryside and quiet lanes perfect for off-lead exploration.
